I ordered a M31 Suomi from Centerfire and bought 500 rounds of CCI Mini Mag 22LR. Not everyone in the USA is homeless and poor. So no can afford to spend around $600? ..big deal. How many have car payment the same or more. I have no car payments..they are all paid for. I have no credit cards. I don't gamble $600 in one month? Don't go to bar and rarely eat out.
I can gloat that I do buy lots of guns.

Weaver rings and a cheapy Bushnell scope for my 10/22. 200 rounds of Federal .223 Rem and 1 box of .380ACP. All at Wal-Mart. Guess what? They had plenty of 9mm and 45ACP on hand as well and they said they'll be gettin' in some more. I see that as a very encouraging sign.

I also had to buy a few weeks worth of baby food and some diapers...'cuz, you know, the little guy needs ammo too.

250 rounds of 77gr Black Hills SMK .223! Don't bother looking, Midway sold out in 30min.:D

Today I bought some fine cheese and a bottle of Cazadores Resposado. Because it's Friday night and it's been a long week.

Nothing, but looked at a lot of very, very nice guns all day. Drove up to Phoenix and walked around the NRA show. Never had the opportunity to do so before and must say I was impressed. The various manufactures certainly do am outstanding job of displaying their revolvers, pistols, rifles, shotguns, etc. It's better than being a bear in a honey tree or a kid in a candy store - great fun.

A couple more Wilson Combat mags for my Colts in .45ACP. On sale at Midway.

Passed on .22lr, .45ACP and 10mm ammo, still have enough and the prices are still higher than I want to pay; don't need to, so waiting and hoping for prices to become more reasonable in the not too distant future. (It is encouraging that at least I am starting to see some ammo available again!)

500 each of hardcast bullets for loading .357 ($33), .38 ($29) and .45 ACP ($35) as well as 1,000 Winchester small pistol primers ($36) and 1,000 CCI large pistol primers ($33). The bullets were from Missouri Bullet Co. and the primers from a local dealer who has a big reloading operation going and always seems to get components.

Just finished loading the .45's. $6.50/50 is what I figure for this ammo. Compare to $30 a box some folks are charging now. I sure like reloading more and more these days.

I'll tell you what I didn't buy today.
I went to a not so local gunshop becuse they told me they had a firing pin I needed. on the phone they told me it would be $15 bucks, I get there and they won't sell me the part without installing it which they said would cost $40. I couldn't swallow the idea of spending that much to fix a single shot 12 guage that is probably only worth 60 bucks, nice of them to tell me it would cost me 15 on the phone before I drove 35-40 minutes:barf:

500 .22lr Remington Viper rounds. $32.00

I did not like the price, still have a bunch of .22lr on the shelf, but have been slowly depleting my .22lr stock and finally someone had 500 rounds boxes with cooper plated bullets on the cartridges.

Now if we could just get some powder up here in Alaska...
Gun powder being classifies as a "boom-boom threat" by the feds (no air freight) and comes up by barge at maybe a couple of hundred pounds at a time (at best) reloaders up here are hurting. (Trucking through Canada is much less weight per truck.)

I have been considering securing powder to migrating whales... Any other suggestions?

A RIA tactical... nothing fancy, but I have a weakness for 1911s, so I figured I'd buy another one and make it my new carry-gun. I have this weird hang-up about buying guns and then not wanting to make them my primary gun. I don't know what it is.

Anyway, it looks like this one, except with the CT grips on it:

http://i74.photobucket.com/albums/i260/dwhitehorne/guns/IMG_1372.jpg?t=1243884189

Sorry you're waiting around for your Kimber, but you'll have a nicer gun than this one once it comes. I don't know if you use the Crimson Trace grips or not, but if not, I highly recommend. These things are awesome, and I'm going to get some for a few of my others.

I need to stay out of my local gun shop, (especially the used gun section of the store). I was just looking for some .357 mag ammo was all and happened to check out the showcase of used guns where I spotted it.
A mint S&W model 696 in .44 special with box and Galco holster. No inernal locks, etc., stainless stee and 3" barrel. I used to have one just like it but my brother had to have it and traded me a nicely equipped johnboat for it. Hard to find these guns anywhere in that caliber. I bought it without a second thought, but it was costly ($695).

I just picked up this little S&W 22 auto. It's been sitting in my local dealer's shop for a few months now. I don't really have any idea why I finally bought it other than it looked so lonely and needed a good home. Plus, it was only $270.00 NIB.
