Is there a "T" before those numbers? If so, According to Browning (http://www.browning.com/customerservice/dategun/detail.asp?id=35), that Hi-Power was built in 1966.

The Hi-Powers I've shot were great shooters. I've been considering picking one up for myself for quite some time.

The BHP I had was a superb shooter. Extremely accurate and ate everything I fed it. The only reason why I eventually got rid of it was because I consolidated all my guns by ammo and decided to drop all my 9mms. Also, I just didn't like grip. It just felt too "square" for me. Oddly enough, larger 9mm grips like the Beretta 92 and similiar guns felt just fine.

The stock grip slabs on the older pistols are blocky and uncomfortable. But there is an abundance of aftermarket options with Craig Spegel's thin presentation grips being among the best. With such a set the BHP is a fantastically comfortable piece with unmatched ergonomics. Here's my self-customized Mk III:

There's a reason why the BHP has the history it does including past use with the FBI HRT and British SAS. It is reliable, accurate, and naturally points while very comfortable in the hand.
