In the April 11 issue, Newsweek has an article on the old, established, faltering firearms manufacturer, Colt. In my opinion, the article (on the Internet at http://www.newsweek.com/nw-srv/printed/us/so/a18469-2000apr9.htm) paints Colt CEO Donald Zhilka as a well-meaning good person who was outdone by the evils of guns and the current lawsuits. At the very end, the article's author attempts--but fails, if you ask me--to placate gun owners by trying to show Zhilka as someone who believes that the problem isn't guns, but people.

Newsweek will hold a web discussion on Thursday, April 12, on guns. Visit http://discuss.washingtonpost.com/wp-srv/zforum/00/poltalk_041200.htm for more information and to submit questions. (Make 'em good and pointed, not whimpering and lame.)
