RABID BOBCAT KILLED: A rabid bobcat attacked two Suwannee County women and several cows and dogs Thursday before it was killed.
The Suwannee County Health Department issued a rabies alert Thursday, asking people to get rabies shots for their cats or dogs that may have been exposed to the disease, and to watch cattle and horses for unusual symptoms.
The women saw the bobcat attacking livestock about 11:45 a.m. at a home on 82nd Terrace in northwestern Suwannee County. They headed toward the house, but the bobcat knocked one of the women to the ground and bit her several times. The other woman got a rifle, but couldn't get a clear shot without hitting the woman under attack, so she fired several shots into the air and scared the animal away. The bobcat cut the second woman on her hand.
Officials determined the animal had been in the area, biting cows and dogs, since about 9 a.m.
An animal control officer caught the bobcat with a net and injected it with a lethal drug. The animal tested positive for the disease.
Both women were treated for their injuries and started on a series of rabies vaccinations.

Poor Bobcat. I would have let it loose in Washington D.C., or on those folks of the Gun Violence Crowd. There kitty kitty kitty...sic 'em!
