Howdy all...

I went to the range today with the intention of finding my first 9mm (mainly for my job with Loomis, but also cause i've always wanted a handgun). And if any of you remember my other threads then this will be as much of a shock to you as it was to me!

I've had my heart set on buying a SIG or Glock...their reputations are impecable, and i also love the feel and look of each brand (espeacially the P226). And after firing 40 or so rounds with each (i rented at the range) i was still impressed with the SIG, but not so much with the Glock...i loved the trigger on the Glock (19 by the way) but i really wasn't getting the accuracy i was used to...but i'm sure it was me, not the gun, haha.
The SIG faired well, but again i wanted to see if i could find somthing lighter and maybe more accurate on my end...here are some pics of my SIG and Glock groupings...

Glock 19

I don't know the exact distance i was shooting for any part of the day...it was the same all the way through and i'd guess 15 to 20 yeards (maybe above 20)...

Next i thought i should at least give my favorite 'Hollywood' gun a try, the Beretta 92. And to put it in one word...i was AMAZED at how well i shot this gun! I didn't get a picture of that target but it was missing the center ring when i was through with it :]
Unfortunately the 92 did jam on me once and stove-pipe once as well (only 25 rounds)...regardless i thought i should stick with Beretta for a bit longer and tried the Px4 Storm...and well, you can see for yourself how much i now love this gun...

A ONE HANDED (right hand) BULLZ-EYE! Woohoo!

I'm pretty much sold on the PX4 Storm, it has some great fire power (17 + 1 !!!) and it felt just right in my hands, the controls were easy to manipulate too. I really like the DA on this gun...Very smooth, and the SA has a very quick release, i was actually able to do some quick and accurate fallow-up shots with this gun.
Anyways, i'm going to go back and put it on lay-away once i get paid this week.
BUT...i was wondering if you fine folks had any suggestions for holsters? I know Black Hawk doesn't make one : (...but i did hear that the XD Serpa will work with this gun. Any one know if there's truth to that at all?
Also, will a Hogue grip fit on one of these?

Congrats.

Exactly why one should try out various guns beforehand. I've made the mistake before of buying a gun based on 'reputation' and not how it feels/shoots in MY hands,

Never again... ;)

Looks like you're going about all this the right way! The only reason I don't own a Beretta Px4 Storm is because my wife already owns one... in each caliber. Sometimes she lets me shoot them :)

Loomis, wow. I applied for those guys in VA.

They put me through all the testing, polygraph and credit checks only to tell me management had changed and they lost me in the shuffle somehow. All for an $11/hr job. I even had an approved firearm for the job.

Eh, what are you gonna do.

NICE shooting man. Even nicer that you found a gun you like. The PX4 is a great gun. I have owned mine a few months. I bought it to compliment my CX4 that I have had for a few year (converted the CX4 to take PX4 mags after buying it a 96 configuration).

They are accurate guns. Now you need a CX4 to go with it!!!

Here are mine, and they pair together well.

I know zip about the Storm. But I certainly agree with the way you went about finding it. I wish we saw more of this than the "What gun for....." threads. Good shooting.

Beware the man with a pistol that can accurately fire it irrespective of caliber (within reason, I suppose).

I've got a .40 cal Sig 229 I can nearly drive tacks with as well as a new Glock 29 (subcompact 10mm) whose groupings are tightening up nicely as the pistol breaks in and I become more comfortable with.

I love my PX4....have since the first day I bought it, 2 years ago. It is soft shooting and is always my constan companion around the house. It makes a great bedside gun because of the manual safety, the 17+1 rounds and rail that llows you to mount your favorite light and or laser. As far as holsters you should check out HIGH NOON HOLSTERS....real nice!:D
