Is $629+ tax to much for Mossberg SPX?

A local dealer called me and said he would be getting a Mossberg SPX in wed. and asked if I wanted it. Said I was looking at $629 plus tax, is that to much to pay for this gun or ok? I am thinking Dick's sells them for $549 but I don't know of any of them that have them in stock, I just don't want to get rung, thanks!

Everyone seems to love this gun, good\bad, love\hate?

The first price I heard for SPX's at Dick's was 549. It was 569 when I got mine. The gun store owner I usually purchase from wanted 629, so I'm guessing that's pretty much the MSRP. It's not an extravagant price, but it's not really a bargain either.


It's up to whether you want one quickly enough that you can't find one at Dick's (if there's one in your area, of course)
