i just bought my first M2 rifle - a savage heavy barrel without the accutrigger. i got it for $169, today i ordered a case of remington for $142/2000 rounds. i dont have the gun yet but already im pretty pumped on this low budget rig as long as its a shooter. just wondering how many m2 shooters there are here and what kind of rig/ammo/100 yard groupings your getting.

No experience personally with the HM2 other than watching a guy plug quite a few prairie dogs with it at 100 yards pretty easily. Watch the wind as those bullets blow off course pretty easy. Justin over at The High Road had that rifle and Art can vouch for how it shot as well.

I have a cz 452 american in hm2 ,and my son has been able to put 5 shots into less than an inch @100 yds on demand with it.It is our favorite for squirrels now.When ever we see ammo on sale ,we buy.

I also have a cz 452 american. I havent shot it at 100yds yet but sighted it in at 50yds. and was able to put 5rds. almost into the same hole consistently at that distance. I love the round and the CZ rifle.
A word of advice: At the range I use the Hoppes Bore Snake for this rifle and my CZ 452 heavy barrel in 17HMR and I swear by them. Whenever I see the groups open up a little bit I pull it thru once or twice and Im back to one hole again.

i plan to sight in at 100 yards. i bought a 17hmr at the same time, its a savage as well with the accutrigger and hardwood stock but ill probably be setting up the hm2 first since i have the ammo for it. i'll be taking one of them along with me whenever i take out my centerfires, it'll allow me more range time than just going out with a single centerfire. i was at the range a couple of weeks ago shooting my .308 700 and saw a guy with an mach2 CZ shooting puny little groups at 100 yards, i hope to duplicate his groupings with my budget rig.

Seems really odd that you bought an HMR at the same time.

I have a cz in 17hmr as well as one in 17hm2.
I would like to get a cz in 22 and 22 mag also.
