Model 41 Serial Number Question

I have a local dealer who's listed as a S&W Top Dealer. He has a supplier that has a new - in the box S&W 41. Can anyone tell me if there's a WEB site that I can reference to determine the date of manufacture from the SN before I plop down my $$ ? Any other way to tell the date of manufacture if not ? I won't know the SN for a week or so until the gun comes in. Seems like a good price at $989 + tax. :D
