View Full Version : Which grips for my CZ 75 stainless?

I've got a CZ 75 stainless and I'm looking to spruce it up a little bit, and am looking fo some nice wooden grips for it. I don't care if they're checkered or smooth, this is mostly aesthetic and I don't think anything could screw up the 75b's perfect ergonomics.

Keep in mind I AM a college student and the cheaper they are, the better! Specific examples for sale would also help greatly!

Actually, you'd be surprised. See that flat thumb rest? It's important, along with the palm swell. Take those away and you're back to average handgun ergos. Whatever you find be sure it has the same profile as the stock grips.

Hakan Pek's grips are legendary, though I've not had the pleasure of seeing them in person, and don't know what he's charging.

Omega Grips (http://www.czgrips.us/) also do very nice custom work, and I have those on both my P-01 and SP-01, and have been quite happy with them.

Both the above may be outside a college budget (Omegas are around $100, depending on the wood you want, not sure what Hakan's grips run). If so, Angus Hobdell's website (Ghost Products (http://czcustom.com/catalog/index.php?cPath=57&osCsid=671ebce1670d37333e8095c614ba6e90)) has a variety of grips, including some cocobolo ones for $50/pair.

If the trigger reach is comfortable with those factory rubber grips, then get the factory checkered grips with CZ logo on them.

Are those the rubber or plastic grips? I recommend switching to the rubber grips.

Also, try some different screws, phillips head screws are not meant to be used on grips... :barf:

I've got a SS just like it and I left my rubber grips on. Why change something that good? I usually am a grip changer, but that is one gun I left alone....nothing wrong with those grips at all. :)

The grips on the OPs photos are factory soft rubber grips with pretty solid touch.
The grips on the pistol you posted are factory hard plastic grips with pretty slippery touch.

While I like the look of wood I couldn't bring myself to changing the grips on my stainless CZ 75B. The rubber just feels too good.

Hey Beretta16,

If those are factory rubber grips on your 75b and you want to sell them I would be interested in buying them. PM me.

Can't go wrong with the way Coco-bolo looks. These are from Ghost Products $50 a pair.

I liked these..
I have short fingers..and the slimness and texturing allows for a great grip and reach to the trigger

I thought the thin Cocobolos looked great on my stainless, and I much prefer the feel of them to the factory rubber/plastic...

If you aren't in a hurry, there will soon be some exceptional G-10 Micartas on the market.....;)

The grips on the pistol you posted are factory hard plastic grips with pretty slippery touch. You are correct. Apparently I took the picture before I swapped the grips... Oh well. I STILL recommend the rubber grips! :o

The stainless comes factory with the rubber grips. Looking for some wood grips to make it a little sexier ;)

I've only seen one picture of a CZ with the Nils on it. They looked hot, but upon talking to the owner, they seemed to be awfully wide.

I personally like thinner grips on CZ's, and think that going wider would be a concession.

Nils are no doubt hot though, and I've still thought about getting a pair just because.

I like the simplicity of the black/matte satainless that the CZ has. It is a classy, all business look. That said, Rubber grips have a tendency to cling to outer garments when carried concealed. I would (and have) gone to a thin ebony wood that retains the look, but solves the cling issue.

Go with the CZ-USA/GHOST grips.

I prefer black grips on stainless, but the new grips put out by CZ are really nice!

For the CZ75B Stainless, I left the black rubber grips. For my CZ 75 Retro, I found a set of the original waffle-style plastic grips. For my primary CZ 75B, I put a set of Hogue half-checkered cocobolo grips. Each pistol has its own character.
