well old brass design is cool...

I got my 1st 100 - 32-40 cases in today... they are awesome... well a bit dinged up from bulk bagged transport... but a full length taper from rim to case mouth... I get a bit of joy just handling them, & am anxious to stuff a couple of bullets just to look at the cartridges...

I get almost the same feeling from my 45-70, & fondeling my 50-70 cases is right up there with the 32-40...

IMO, that old style brass seems to have more charictor than a nickle plated belted magnum ( though there's certainly nothing wrong with the 375 H&H case ), for much the same reasons...

so... whats your favorite cartridge to handle ??? something maybe you don't even need to shoot, to get fond memorys, or one that evokes your imagination of that up coming big hunt???

Love playing with the .30-30 and .30-40 a little more modern but still over 100 years old. Might even take my old Krag carbine on a pronghorn hunt this fall. 180 or 220 grain round nose moving about 2200 fps should do the job a great job on a little bitty pronghorn!
