I took this pic for another thread but just look at how tight this slide is fit. How can you not love it? The odd thing is that even though it is so tight, the thing slide like it is on rollers. :)

PBP - Do you have similar photos of your colts and springers? How tight does the DW look (and feel) in comparison?

Thanks

A tight slide is a thing of beauty.

This is one reason DW stands heads and shoulders above the rest. IMO, there is no better value out there!

How tight are barrel to barrel bushing fit and barrel to slide fit?

If all of those areas are so tightly fit, do Dan Wesson pistols experience the
reliability problems that Les Baer and Kimber pistols do?

I didn't know Kimbers were tightly fit.:)

I haven't had any issues with my DW. The barrel bushing/barrel fit/lockup is amazing.

I think it might be a false idea that a tight fitting slide should make for a less reliable pistol, IF the pistol is properly made. With the exception of a few lemons, Wilsons and Browns are very tightly fit and they generally have out of the box reliability. Some do say that Les Baer's are more likely to need a break in due to their tight fit, but from what I've read Baer makes them SUPER UBER tight, so tight that sometimes it is hard to rack the slide!

My pistol pictured above is a Les Baer Concept II. It didn't need a "break-in" per se because it has never malfunctioned. But it became noticeably smoother after about 400 rounds.
