Need Help with my Mossberg

Hello. I have searched the forums but was unable to find the answer to my problem. I have 590 Mossberg, a police trade in, which sometimes fails to grab and eject spent shells. I had that problem repeatedly this past weekend (even after just a couple shots) when shooting field loads with aluminum bases - the shell would stay in the barrel requiring a knife to extract. The chamber is smooth. When I removed the bolt, which was clean prior to using, it seems that the spring on one of the extractors is relatively weak. I have been looking for instructions on disassembling the bolt and replacing the springs. It looks like there is a pin that can be knocked out, but I would like to see what I am getting into before I get into it. Any help would be appreciated.

Be sure your chamber doesn't have an invisible build-up of plastic from some shells.
Also, I'd give the entire bbl. a good scrubbing for the same reason. If that checks out I'm sure that it could be dirt of some kind fouling you up. I'd remove the trigger group and use some Gun Scrubber - but I really think it could be plastic build-up in the chambers.
If not putting new extractor springs shouldn't be a problem if you watch what you're doing.

Harry how can you offer support of a weapon that fires multiple projectiles with one pull of the trigger. I don't think any sportsman needs a weapon like this that fires so many projectiles with one pull of the trigger.

Thanks for the link, but I've been successful with dissassembling and assembling the shotgun as shown on the video, my problem has to do with taking the bolt apart. I see a pin that is just begging to be removed, but I would love to know how many parts are going to be tumbling out, including little springs, when I knock it out.

When you remove the pin, you will have a spring, the extractor, and the pin.

Is it. I offered no suport, no would I if I knew it was full auto - besides is helping the man wrong?

To suggest that I was offering support for full autos is a damn lie.
Frankly I'm sick of this kind of childish business.

Harry, you got *owned* as he meant multiple projectile regarding numerous shot pellets.
To tear down the bolt there are 3 small rollpins and a larger one.

In this thread I posted pics of my 2 mossberg bolts. Not all have the spring. But the pins are in the 3 small vertical holes and the other is crossways...
Looks simple enuff to do with the right roll pin punches.
