She's a beauty. Is that a 5 shot mag because of NJ?

You picked a good one. The lovely wife and I are both Stag fans and have absolutely zero problems with ours. Is that flash hider / compensator different as well do to NJ laws? It looks different than the factory ones we received.

Yea, it's fake. Not allowed to have a flash supressor in NJ.

Anyone know what red dot sights I should be looking at? The ones I see are about $400. I was hoping for less.

Nice rifle.

You can find an Eotech (512 preferably) for under $400.00; well under $400 if you shop the used market...But I suggest saving up for an ACOG. You won't be disappointed. I have/had all three good ones (ACOG, aimpoint and eotech) and the ACOG is by far my favorite.

I found a used but perfect condition ACOG TA31F with an ARMS #19 quick-detach for $750.00 shipped on here.

P.S. Sorry about the 10 rd mag cap, that's a bummer:(
(But at least you didn't have to buy a break-open AR)

Magic Man, glad to see you got your AR! Yes, we here in New Jerky are limited to ten round mags (state law caps mags at 15 rounds but no such animal for AR platform I know of) but as the poster above me stated, could be worse! Kalifornia!

We also suffer the indignity of no adjustable stocks so I imagine Magic, that's a permanently pinned model? Enjoy it all the same, heading to the range Monday morning with my usual load of firearms fun and the new Bushmaster myself.

Very nice!!

Before you buy an aimpoint... as i'm sure you have already, take it out for some shootin and make sure that's what you really want. I havent had good experiences with cheap aimpoints, i bought a <100$ one and returned it the next day. But if you've got around a 400$ butget, definitely look into eotech, or like bazooka joe was saying, save up for an acog.

If you believe you'd be better off with a scope or something with a higher magnification, then i'd look for something up that alley.. but that's just my prefrence!! If you wanna go hogwild with it (which it is an AR, so i'm sure there's a chance) acogs can have X3 inline magnifiers.. and some that flip up/down. There's so much stuff out there.

as i said before, take it out for a hundred rounds or so to see what your preference may be, if a buddy has a rifle/attachment that they'll lend you, then take that opportunity... but if you're heart is set on a red dot sight then by all means, i'm sure you'll have a blast with one!

Again, beautiful rifle, hope you enjoy!!

It's not a "fake flash suppressor", it's a muzzle brake.

Get the screws on the gas key properly staked, Stag doesn't do this right at the factory. Other than that, the Stag is sweet.
