Do you think that 40 bucks is a reasonable amount to pay for a re-centered and leveled, rear sight, then anchoring it so it doesn't move, for a mosin nagant M44 carbine?

I guess the anchoring part I'm a little foggy on.... I"d like to still be able to adjust for distance....

but any money spent on a sub $100 gun is going to seem like a lot.....

but if it shoots straight, and you are happy with it go for it!

I have 3 M/N's by the way, and just got rid of my BLR in .308 because my M-44 shoots sub 1 MOA groups:D

EDIT:
...by the way the M-44 was originally sighted in with the bayonette folded out, and was only intended to be folded down while riding in a vehichle....

I guess that's what happens when more guns are produced than ammunition...

It doesn't shoot straight.

What I meant to say was

It's sight base came loose, so the zero changes after every shot. I'm getting the sightbase realligned and then silver soldered to the barrel so the sights are finally able to be somewhat accurate.

My Rifle is in great condition, and I spent $165 bucks on it. I don't plan on fixing the range setting for the sights, that works fine, it's just the allignment for the sight base.
