I found a RIA 1911 similar to the top one on this page but for a better price.

I was wondering what mods would turn it into a tactical, am I right in saying a Skeleton hammer and trigger, different beaver tail, and combat sites? Can these all be changed fairly easily? I am interested in just having a basic 1911 that won't bite and is reliable and able to shoot HP's. Also would I be able to do these kinds of mods on my own with the right parts?

there is about only $60 difference between the price of the two. It would cost you more than that for the parts alone.

Have to agree with Stolivar on that one, just check out the parts prices then the smithy to do the work for you would most likely triple the price of the standard you are looking at.
I have a Armscor with all the bells and whistles and a few years ago was only 299.00

Well after I posted this I went to the store to go pick up the gun, someone had bought it while I was gone so it was kind of a blessing. I will be getting an ffl lined up to get the tactical version. Thanks a lot guys for the direction
