Hi,
always wanted an AR 15 and just found a Colt in 9mm for $1200.
Like new condition.
Is this a good rifle?
good deal?
I have lots of 9mm ammo.
thanks

also, what is the advantage of a "pre ban" AR?
Thanks

There is no advantage to a pre-ban anything now that the ban has sunset. Efectively any AR you can buy now can be "pre-ban". It really only refers to cosmetic features such as a removable flash hider and bayonet lug.

Yes, the Colt 9mm Carbine is a great pistol caliber rifle. I have one and have had no malfunctions with ball ammo. I have never tried hollow points though. But the asking price is way too high. You can get a brand new one for about $1300 with 2 20 round mags. Visit ar15.com and look at the equipment exchange board or buy a copy of shotgun news.

$1200 seems about average for a Colt 6450 9mm rifle. You might find one cheaper if you hunt around.

Rock River Arms also makes a 9mm rifle for less money.

I'd assume that is a dedicated 9mm lower since it is a Colt, and I know little in reference to the $$$of any given Colt. However, I got my 9mm AR (Bushmaster Lower, Colt Upper, 9mm magblock and bolt) and 6 magazines for$800 in great condition. Hope that at leastgives a reference point.
