The worst job about an inline, is getting the grease and debris out of the threads, inside of the barrel, where the breech plug screws in. If you have a scope mounted, it is even worse.

Let me suggest something I have been doing that might speed up the process.

Cover your scope with a rag , and turn the barrel with the muzzle down, over another rag on the floor. Then carefully spray some Brake Cleaner( the kind with a little tube that can be attached to the nozzle) onto the threads, and let it run down the barrel. This only takes about 30 seconds, and will remove all of the grease and debris from the threads. You can then clean the barrel as usual.

Be sure to relube and oil afterwards.

As far as I can tell The brake cleaner won't hurt the inside of a barrel or the threads provided you relube them. Try not to get any cleaner on your stock or the outside of the barrel as I am not sure what it might do to the blueing or the finish on your stock.

Hope this helps.
