local guy wanted to sell me this gun, but he wants me to make an offer first
says he paid $1700 new for it in 1999
Browning composite STAINLESS A bolt 300 win mag with boss
Round count is about 160 +/- 20 (mainly factory ammo)
also has the non muzzle break attachment
Adjustable Objective 4.5-14x40mm Matte finish Vari-X-III with a Duplex reticle and, Leupold base and rings, Butler Creek Caps
also Rifle will go with about 35 pieces of fully prepped brass ready to reload and a set of 300 Mag RCBS dies.

NIB A-bolt < 800
VX-III ~350
mounts ~60
say 1200 NIB right now, take 20-30% off that is what i would offer

I have seen similar setups for about $800-900 lately. $840 (what onemsumba said to offer) is right in there.

Start low and meet in the middle. Offer him $500 and settle at $850.
Onemsumba, if you can get a Leupold vari X III 4-16 for $350, can you pick one up for me?????????

I was just thinking the same thing....a VX-III for $350?
$800-$900 sounds about right for a used browning A bolt, even if it is almost NIB

well i offered him 1050, i have seen setups for around 900 or so, but that is with the blued barrel, here is what i found as far as prices go on the stainless one
