I inherited the Rem. pump 32 yrs ago when my Dad passed. I can't recall where I read that the reason for the change from the straight tubular,(Mod-14), to the spiral tubular,(Mod-141), magazine was for the intended purpose of loading pointed soft-point rounds. It is supposed to off-set the primer from the bullit tip.

I've heard and always obeyed the warning "Do not load pointed nose ammo in tubular magazines". My question is, has anyone else heard or read of this ??? I don't intend to change now, 180/200gr. softpoints are great white-tail medicine in this part of the state. Just always been curious, thanks for your help....
