I need my ARMS #18 mount installed on my Springfield M1A rifle.

Who does quality, dependable work in Phoenix on this type of rifle?

For kicks I typed Phoenix gunsmith into Google. Lots of hits and links.

I have a knowledgeable friend who has been happy with Magnum Precision; they are located near Shooter's World, just a bit south and west. They say they specialize in military rifles, and my buddy ( a competitive shooter) has liked the work they did on his AR. Mangum (not Magnum) is the last name of the main gunsmith; his associate's first name is Wade.

There is an M14 specialist in Tempe; I think he is associated with the Vortex flash hider. I know he builds M1As, don't know if he does gunsmithing. I will try to find him and come back here.

Just checked. It's Smith Enterprises. They have a web site. Google "Vortex flash hider" and you will find them. They don't sound like a gunsmith; too busy building M21 rifles for the Army apparently. They do say retail customers can contact them. Maybe someone there would be willing to help. They are listed as a gunsmith on Google.

Otherwise Magnum Precision should be OK. You Google "Phoenix Gunsmiths" and find them on the 3rd page or so: it says the number is 602-200-0943.
