Washington Hunters

Any western Washington hunters out there have stories of hunting Roosevelt Elk or blacktails? I would like to hear it.

Know where Alder lake is? Worked with a gal in that area whose son shot a bull with a bow. After being shot he swam out to a small island in the lake. He layed down and died there. We all figured he felt safe on the island was why. There is so much game in some areas there I wouldn't ride my motorcycle over about 40 to 45 at night, and still had hair raising close calls with deer and elk. Missed a doe on HWY 12 just off 5 freeway by inches one night.

I typically hunt near Randall, but this year I am going to hunt the Toutle River herd. The herd is overpopulated and the DFW will be issuing extra tags. Near Mount Saint Helens is good too. And of course, there are lots of elk on the Peninsula.
