Compared to some these are not high end but they're as high end as I can afford. :o

HK USP .45 Commemorative #69 of 1000 made. Found this beauty at a pawn shop a few months back and had been on and off the shelf since 2000 when they were made. Got a super duper deal on it, far far less than what they're going for on the auction sites. :) NIB and the slide has never been racked. Most stunning bluing I've ever seen on a gun, deep black polished mirror. Pics don't do it justice. Oh God I want to shoot it so bad but I must remain strong. Might have to get a USP beater to see how they shoot.

Plus my lil Kimber Ultra Raptor II .45. Fantastic shooter! Flawless performance so far in the few months I've owned it. $950.00 out the door new. I can't speak highly enough of it. It feels like it was made for my hand and has superb accuracy. Of course I love the way it looks and the custom touches Kimber put on it. First 1911 based gun I've owned and the first gun of any kind with tritium sights.

If by high-end you mean expensive, here is mine. I'm still not convinced that expensive/high-end = better. I've seen people do things with cheap pistols that make my expensive jobbie look ridiculous.

My 1991A1 Colt.

All work was done by Bob Miller of Action Sports of Texas.

I've got about $1400 in it counting the $500 base pistol cost (1996).

Agreed, but I do like having a pistol with a potential that I'll probably never reach in my lifetime ;) .

Sorry that I just posted similar pics of this gun in another thread to make a point on a caliber discussion, but here is what I consider to be my highest end gun.
It's a Coonan Arms heavily modified model B with 5-1/2" bull bbl, TiN gold tool coated with a Stainless steel full profile 2 chamber 6 port compensator that I designed and Dan Coonan made and mounted, lightened slide and frame, Millett adjustable sights, a custom one of a kind undercut patridge front sight, trigger and action job, custom skeletonized hammer and beaver tail grip safety, custom extended mag release button, and best of all his first gun to be serialized as he was leaving Coonan Arms to start his own business as a private contract arms manufacturer. The serial number which I was allowed to pick was my 'initials'-001.
Sandbag rested, open sights, and ammo dependent, I can shoot 6-8" groups at 100 yards open sights with good ammo.

I haven't compared my 952-2 to another high-end auto. But, S&W PC charged me $1500.00. For me, that is high enough. IMO, the high cost of an auto doesn't necessarily make it a better shooter. The high costs means better overall quality. Such as tighter tolerances, finish, trigger, etc.

Hey hdawson228, govmule84,

Funny you mention prices in joking... Due to the percieved collectability in just the stock Coonans, the magazines alone even used fetch prices in the $150 to $200 dollar range. I had a about 3 extras I didn't need along with a bunch of additional spare parts from my early days of hanging around their shop, and sold all of the parts on ebay for an excess of just under $1000 just this last fall. Not bad for about a $100 investment some time earlier. It helped me add a couple of guns to my collection in the last couple months.

I know about the laser.. :o It has been off for a while now. I need to update the pics. The reason it was on there in the first place was when I stopped competing I only had two handguns, this Coonan, and a M11 (Mac-9). My wife had learned how to shoot with the beefy Coonan two handed and liked it. She is somewhat petite, but loved the thrill of shooting the giant (in her hands) .357 mag. Who'd have guessed? Anyway, she wanted a gun for home protection if needed, but I couldn't talk her into a revolver or glock or something more reasonably sized. Go figure  She wanted to be sure of her sight picture (as she was nervous that under stress she wouldn't sight in correctly) at 20-25 feet or so, (longest distance in our house) so I added the laser, sighted it in dead on at that distance, so even in low light she'd only have to point and shoot if necessary. Obviously it was never used as such, and now with a more reasonable choice of guns in my collection with night sights, better choice of ammo, (uhmm less than magnum calibers :) ) etc.. the laser has become obsolete..

Here's something I picked up late last year I've wanted for a while. A Springfield Armory OMEGA 10MM with a Peters Stahl 6" ported slide and barrel. It's one of the later models with the bugs worked out, just before they stopped producing them.

The USP and USP Compact are great guns. I haven't fired my HK commemorative .45 yet either. It has a beautiful finish for sure. As for high end guns I suppose my HKs rate right up there as far as quality goes. My favorites would have to be the USP .45 Tactical, the .45 USPc anniversary and my P7M8.

Viper, your Coonan is so over the top I don't have the words to express it's impact.

Here is I guess a "high end semi auto". My HK USP .40 S&W with night sights. I'm not a huge fan of the .40, (cost to shoot vs. use/need) but wanted one to add to my collection. It's my only .40, and I suppose I could have done worse in picking one.. :)

Here are 2 of mine. I wanted a .44 Auto Mag ever since I was a kid. It took me years to get one and cost better than twice as much as any other firearm I ever bought...and it was worth every penny. :D The Grizzly is totally different than the Auto Mag,much less exotic but a great pistol in it`s own right. The grips are desert ironwood done by Hakan Pek. Marcus

No, I bought it because it is something unique and a totally new approach to handgun technology.

Have you played with one? They are simply amazing. The handgun fully loaded with 20 rounds weighs so little you barely realize you have it on your side. It has absolute zero recoil, it's like firing a .22LR pistol.

The gun has more plastic in its construction than any other handgun I've owned. The entire slide is plastic with sheet metal molded into it where needed.
