17 HMR barrels.

Is there any difference between the heavy varmint barrel on the H&R 17 and the bull barrel on Marlins 917?
Do they both have the same potential for grouping?
Anyone shot both of these, how would you compare them?

I have not shot the H&R but I've shot the Marlin 917 and I own a Savage 9317, both with the heavy barrel. Both the Marlin and Savage are extremely accurate. I own the Savage variant without the accutrigger. I plan to pick up a rifle basix drop in trigger for it which should make a huge difference. They make a drop in for the Marlin as well. Not sure about H&R. Both the Marlin I've shot and the Savage manage 100yd. 5 shots inside a quarter easily with some five shot groups the size of a dime.
