Pay $300 for a very good condition POST 64 Winchester 94? It was made in 1970, and has a unertal 4x.... I thought for sure the gun was pre64 and offered my friend $300, but found out its not.

For a pre-64 yes for a post...no they are very common and can be had for less than that.
