I used to own both at the same time back in the 80's, great guns, especially the 380. I don't know why Colt stopped making those...hpg

XDs are made in 9, .40 and .357 Sig, all with the same frame, and with a similar frame they have a .45.

CZ-75s can be had in 9, .40 and they have a .22 conversion, and you can get a .357 Sig barrel.

Glock has 9, .40, .357 Sig and .45 GAP on a number of frame sizes, that are nearly identical from caliber to caliber, same deal with their .45s and 10mm's.

Come to think of it, if a mfr makes a gun in 9mm, they ususaly have the exact same gun in .40.

Seecamp stopped production of it's LWS25 in the mid 80s but presently produce the LWS32 and LWS380.

All three different caliber Handguns are identical in size!

magnumtrails,

They may be named the same but they are not the same gun or the same model - different size frames, one has a grip safety, the other doesn't, etc.

I have two Baby Eagles that are the steel semi-compact models. One is 9mm and the other is 40 SW. The guns are identical except for the caliber. The 9mm shoots under an inch at 25 yds, the 40 is still around 2".

Anyone remember Colts? :D

I'll be picking up a 9mm Combat Commander tomorrow that will complement my .45 Combat Commander very nicely.

Colt did make a 9mm Government model and, of course, their .38 Super Gov't in addition to the .45ACP.

H&K used to make the P4 which could be had with 4 calibers - .22, .25, .32 and .380. They even made a premium package that contained all four calibers by swapping barrels, magazines, slides, etc.

Add Daewoo, the "Pride of Asia" on that list: 9, .40, .45...:) The same platform in that wonderful "fast-action".

P94 (9mm) P944 (.40) from Ruger. Both same frame, etc. Get a slide of the other caliber and barrel and you have two guns in one, just like Glocks, Sigs, etc in terms of interchangeability.
