View Full Version : Stupid question about Glocks.

Are barrels from different models interchangable? I'm interested in the possibility of swapping a barrel from a 17L or even a 9mm Model 34 into a standard Glock 17.

I'm just curious, and I'd only want to do it while at the range, for better accuracy at long distances. The only problem my newbie mind can forsee would be the barrel sticking out further than the slide.

Any thoughts?

Sure, the barrel will drop in. Sure, the barrel will stick out. Sure, the barrel will provide no more accuracy, at any range.

Yes, the barrel from a Glock 17L or 34 will work in a 17, but not the other way around.

At the URL below is a chart showing barrel swaps that can be done.

Why not? I think that for most people the gun is already more accurate then they are so adding a longer barrel won't do much, but for those who are good enough to notice, won't a longer barrel give better accuracy all else being equal?

A longer barrel in itself won't do much if anything to increase accuracy. You need a longer sight radius to go along with that barrel.

Glockmeister had a nice chart for what parts would work in what guns

Might be worth checking with them
