Looking To Purchase First Rifle!?!?!

I am new to rifles in general. I have never owned one but I have shot a few AKs and an AR once. I am wondering the price range for a used AR 10 or 15. My local gun shop wants anywhere from $700-1000 for used ARs, M16s. I own a few handguns, Glocks and Sigs. But I really want a rifle. Please point me in a direction and get me on the right track!!!! Money is burning a hole in my pocket!!! Thanks!!!

Could try a Ruger 10/22; I've seen the base models (blued, with birch or composite stock) but $150 on sale. I have one myself (it's the Mossy Oak Break-Up model) and love it.

If you want a centerfire, might want to look at an SKS or Saiga AK.

22lr and 7.62x39 are good starters. Heck, get a bolt action 22 and an SKS - shouldn't run more than $300 for both.

Ammo is cheap too....
