Had mine 6 months, many many rounds of Stingers and high velocity ammo went thru it. Great shooting, all the FTF/FTE problems I'd read about seemed to have been fixed by mid-2005; HOWEVER, the safety started walking down as I shot. Not a problem shooting slow fire, but for sure a rapid fire kill-joy, so it's back at S&W. Last week my friend bought one, and after less than 100 rnds a spring went bad in the trigger mechanism and it wouldn't fire. Now the gunsmith has it. Love the gun, hate all this. Anyone got some good news on this German brass puker?

I own a P22 and have fired many rounds through it.
After a while, I experience repeated fte problems. I got some new magazines and that problem was fixed. Then, the slide stop notch in the frame rounded off and the square edge was lost. Now the slide does not lock back. Since it is only a taget pistol for me, I guess I can live with it.
I do have some good news about this pistol...it was cheap.
Overall, it is accurate, but my next .22 pistol will not be a P22.
