OK, I picked up a High-Standard SK-100 for a song, but I don't know much about it. I cleaned it pretty well and took it with me to the range the other night. It shoots well, but it's blowing powder out the side and burning my finger pretty good. On top of that, it's literally tearing about a 1/4" out of the base of the shells when ejecting.

I'm going to go out on a limb here and say that isn't right! :D After thinking about it, I'm wondering if it's because I'm using Blazer High-velocity rounds in it and it's pushing the slide back way too fast. I'm not sure if H.V. rounds were around in t roughly 1957ish when the gun was made. I'm thinking of trying a standard velocity round next time out unless others are having luck with the H.V. If they are, then I will probably take it in and have it looked at.

For the record, it shoots pretty darn well, even if it did singe the hair off my finger! Lol!

Any thoughts or experience with these?
