My FFL transfer dealer has a shotgun that he wants to sell me. It is a Mossberg 500 in 20 gauge. It is in new, unfired condition with the factory box and paperwork. It comes with two barrels. One is 26 inches with choke tubes. The other is a 20 inch, fixed, cylinder choke barrel. He wants $300.00 out the door. It was a gun ordered by someone and never paid for.

Do you think it is a fair deal?

It's a good deal if you're both happy with the price.
For me it seems a little steep but not too far off. You can buy the shotgun at WalMart for $159 and the extra barrel ordered direct from Mossberg is $105. You can probably find the barrel cheaper from a retailer.

$300 is a little to much.$250 would be in the ball park.Hope this helps.

Roy, the Maverick may sell for that much at Walmart. It's not a bad deal. I bought my 500 for $234 and later ordered an extra bbl. for $80. You COULD do better, but he's got to make a little.

IF you have a Dick's Sporting Goods near, check them out. They run the combo in ads for not much over $200................. Sometimes you can find a Remington 870 combo for $300 range which would be a better gun and better buy...

express isn't a better gun than 500---the 500 is the best buy in shotguns today.
