Does anyone know the difference(s) between Springfield's Mil Spec and the GI issue 1911s? Other than the sights and grips, I can't see any difference on their website. Thanks.

those links cover all of the differences. bottom line is that the milspec is definitely worth the difference for the lowered and flared port alone. if you plan on keeping the original sights, then the milspec is really worth it. the GI sights are worthless in anything but broad daylight, and even then they suck.

many people claim that the GI ejection port is no less functional than a milspec port, but in my experience i get a slightly higher FTE % with my GI. a bit more tuning and i'll be happy with it. i do prefer the GI ejection port from an aesthetic perspective.
