I got my first lever action rifle yesterday:D . It's a Marlin 336w in 30-30. It came to me third(?)-hand, so it doesn't look minty fresh, but the action is solid. There are a few scratches in the blueing, and the stocks aren't walnut, but I'm very excited to go to the range. The only thing that I can see was molested is the hood is missing from the front sight:( .
edit: How did I do for $200?

Did someone throw in the M-16 CRKT and the Smith for that $200?

If it shoots well and you like the feel of it, you did good.

That's about right on price, but not fantastic. I want one of those too. Enjoy! :)

I wish the CRKT and Revo came with. The knife is my EDC, and the other is a Taurus 66, on loan from my dad while he has my 9000s, which serves as a nightstand gun. The Marlin just seemed so lonely by itself...:)

I have always found the hoods to get in the way. I do not shoot with them on, they are good transporting and storage of the gun. I do not think you will miss it.

excellent rifle. fair price.

Actually, it amazes me that they don't cost more for what you're getting. Let us know how she shoots.

mgdavis,

That's a beautiful gun! Good job...you'll love it even more after you take it out and shoot it. Mine's missing the front hood also...was it the mark of a cool levergun owner to take those things off, or what?

Its about $20. LESS than the going price around these parts. With just normal maintenance you should get two lifetimes of use from this carbine.

Good hunting to you.

Good choice on the rifle and great price. I picked up a couple of Win modle 94 a couple of years back for $150 ea. I was very happy with them and traded for more than I paid for them, wished I would have kept at least one of them.
