I was really surprised at how the old recoil spring had gotten so short after about 800 rounds. It's about two inchs shorter the the new replacment spring.

HappyGunner: that don't seem right. I wonder if you got the correct replacement?

He knew it was for my 4" Tac Pro.and I confirmed the part number 1000169 with him. I also ordered a spring Assy. for my 3" Ultra Carry. The spring for the 4" was marked Compact it's a 22# spring it has the same number of coils as the old spring. I guess after 800 rounds the spring is about shot meaning is lost it's spring.;)

I don't know about the recent Kimbers, but the older 4 inchers recommended recoil spring changes at 800 rounds. I know my SLE is recommended for that.

This is the number Dennis of the Kimber Custom Shop gave me on Tuesday and when I was placing my order he stated it again so I ordered two 4" springs just to have one as a replacment when needed.:)
