View Full Version : Difference Between G3 and CETME

What is the difference between these two rifles. I don't need info about the specs like the sights are different or they take different mags.

My understanding is Century makes receivers for both.
Are CETME's mades with CETME parts and are G3's made with HK parts.
Is that the only (main) difference.

Most of the diffrences are angles of internal parts. There is a slight diffrence in the shape of the reciever (viewed from the rear). The Cetme selector is up for fire, whereas the HK is up for safe.

AS you mentioned the only cosmetic diff is the sights.

There are a few minor differences as mentioned before but they are essentially the same rifle. The G3/HK91 started life as a licensed copy of the CETME.
