I just bought a Verona LX503 Sporting O/U with a 3" chamber and was wondering what the effect, if any, would be if I shot 2 3/4 shells or would be equally exceptable to use either size. Thanks.

No affect at all, it is a common practice among all shotguns to fire the shorter shells in the longer chambers.

Just don't do it the other way around!

mtnboomer is correct. I use a Berreta 390 for skeet at times and it has a 3" chamber. No ill effects and my patterns are as good as my 2 3/4" Browning. As mtnboomer said. never shoot a 3" in a barrel marked 2 3/4". Bad things could happen!!!
