I am curious as to how many rounds I can put through my gun before it needs an overhaul.....does this very alot or is there a standard?? I have an hk USP that I have been very pleased with, it is a 40S&W. I bought it used and I don't believe it saw much use. I have owned it for about 3 months now and counted up the empty boxes and I have put 3500 rounds through it already. How long before I have any problems?? The gun has never once jammed or failed to fire and I would like to keep it operating that way.

As well built as H&K firearms are, you're probably looking at 75,000+ rounds before you start having problems.

In most automatics the only recommended replacement is the recoil spring every so often.
How often depends on the gun.
Like making a car last by changing the oil and keeping it up, cleaning and proper lubing will keep your gun in good shape and add to the service life.
Hint: VERY, VERY few people in the world have ever worn a quality gun out.
Most are ruined by abuse, "home gunsmithing", or improper cleaning.
