I was reading about the cz 40p. It is a .40 cal pistol that is styled something like a 1911. It also has the cz75 action. I know very little about cz pistols, however this looks like a neat little pistol and it is cheap.

Any info would be greatly appreciated!

Only handled one in a store in AZ, but I was impressed with it's construction. I'd have bought one by now if they came in 9 or 45. I was only able to locate 10 rnd mags, and $40/ea was the cheapest price I found.

You will find that the general consensus with CZ pistols is very high quality and excellent accuracy for the price. I bought my CZ 75 seven years ago and it has been an absolutley outstanding weapon. It is the most accurate handgun I have personally fired. I am very interested in buying a CZ 97, but will have to wait a little while since I just bought a Glock 22.

Here is a link to a review that I put together on the 40-P. For the money, that pistol is hard to beat.

Just a quick note the 1911 styled CZ originally designed to be sold by Colt is a 40B. Great guns all round. The 40P is a factory hybrid of a CZ PO-1 frame topped with a 40B slide. Personally I prefer the 40P because I love the CZ grip and I wanted a light rail. If you like the feel of a 1911 and want a DA/SA .40 though the 40B is hard to beat especially for the low prices they`re selling for. Marcus
