I am seriously considering getting a 22" or 24" heavy barreled bolt action savage in .308, and a good scope (looking at Leupold 3X9 or 4X12)
right now the best deal I have found has been
650 for the rifle, 3X9 scope, rail and rings
or
700 for the same with the 4X12
both of these include shipping to my FFL and no tax, the only additional charge is what ever my FFl charges me for a transfer fee.
Any one else know of any beater deals on this set up before I buy? (I hate finding a better deal after I buy...)
BTW right before I buy, I'll stop buy a couple of local dealers to see if they will match, sometimes they do sometimes they don't....
also input on the 3X9 vs the 4X12 would be good to...
this will be mostly for fun, but I kinda like the higher magnification, if for nothing else than that I can see the holes in the paper with it... :)
