What do you think of the Weaver V-24 varminter scope? It has target knobs are they repeatable. The best price I found for them is 329? Is this a good mid price scope to put on a heavy barrel target gun?

Can't really address the V24 but i've got a V9 i;ve had for years and just bought a V16 from Natchez and i love both of them.....my only regret is that i got the V16 with a fine crosshair and dot and it is so fine that i can't pick it up fast enough for speed shooting but that's not the scopes fault i'm just asking it to do something that it was not intended for......Dick

Don't own one but a gent at the club does.

His is mounted on a Winchester Coyote chambered in .223. Based upon the groups he shoots I'd say it's serving him quite well.

You've got a fine scope there. I've got two V-16's and only wish I would've bought more V-16's or a V-24 before Weaver stopped making them. :(

They are still making them. I just ordered the V-24 from midway and it is on backorder expected on the 7th of january.

I was under the impression that the newer Weaver Grand Slams had replaced the V-16 and V-24 series.

Best prices I've seen are at Natchez (http://search.cartserver.com/search/search.cgi?cartid=a-7002&category=Optics&maxhits=20&keywords=o01scopewe) . They've been running a sale on the Weaver's for at least a month or so. Picked up a V16 & V24 myself ;)
