sights for mini14

Help, can someone suggest a good sight
for mini14 ranch in 223.?
Range of less then 100 yards, low power
scope or red dot of some type.??

I do not like the peep sight on rifle.

A few options:
Find a 1" red-dot for your ruger rings
Williams makes a fool-proof peep that fits the ranch, actually the 11-87 model I think
Get an ultimak 'scout mount' to install a red-dot or other sight up front. http://www.ultimak.com/photos.htm

Replace the iron sights with an XS Systems ghost ring set-up and go with one of the scout-type mounts for some type of collimator/dot sight. You'll wind up with a reasonabley priced facimile of John Farnam's defensive rifle concept (the FDR is based on a .308 Garand Carbine and the Eleanor is based on a Mini-14).
