So what is the difference between a VEPR and a Saiga? Can anyone looking at this educate me please?

I can get one for about $400.00 so I'm curious.
It's the one with the thumbhole stock and the scope comes with it. I think its the 308-2

I think that the Vepr is supposed to be the higher quality of the two. Also the Saiga has a monte carlo (rifle style) stock, and the Vepr has a thumbhole.

The standard Vepr (~$700) has a heavier reciever & is reputed to have greater accuracy.

it is supposedly a tad easier to 10 US part convert a saiga to AK form.
