Ok -- I've got Scout rifle on the brain.
Has anyone got ideas on putting a Scout scope on a Rem. 740?
I'd rather not drill and tap the barrel. Can I hang a Weaver rail a ways out over the barrel and use the hole already drilled for the rear site? How far forward should a Scout scope be? There's no issue with ejection or stripper clips -- I just want to be able to balance my left and right eyes for fast target acquisition.
Any recommendations on a good Scout scope if I ever figure this out?
