Any pros or cons to the Glock 36 in .45 cal?
My 9mm Sig 228 trigger is a little out of reach of my triger finger or I would go with a Sig .45.

There are alot of Glocksters who like the G36,I don't..
I don't like the single stack "feel" of this Glock. It just doesn't
feel like a Glock...But,that's just me...

Hogwash.

But that's a personal preference. :)

Perhaps there's a short trigger option for the 220/245? Helps me on my 228 in a big way.

My dear doctor. How many rounds do you need to take the bad man (or men) down??!!!
If I need more than the 19 165gr Corbons that I carry, (1rd in chamber, 3 mags) I deserve to get smacked just for not being able to use my chosen weapon, or leaving my rifle elswhere!! ;)

Now, as touching the pistol itself. Show me a full power .45ACP that you can carry in your pocket (Galco PH286), ankle (Fobus GL-4), belt ( Bianchi Black Widow), or IWB (Predator Kydex)!!! The recoil is quite manageable, even with +P loads. Accuracy is superb!! Reliability is excellent!!

go out and rent one,i'm sure you'll really like it,the recoil is a bit snappy but very enjoyable,if by some chanch you should go to a sig check out the p-220,there very accurate, and fun to shoot.

the 36 is a nice little gun. I think its funny that someone said it doesn't have enough ammo: with the extension it holds the same as a 1911

It's accurate and seemed reliable (I've put ~200 rnds thru 1 w/o faliures). I like the 30 better; the 36 is a little snappy, but what do you expect from a tiny .45?

I just got rid of my G36 for a G32. It seems that the mid size glocks are very very close to the G36 in size. The old glock size data on the G36 was WRONG. They didn't include the magazine which is quite long. I put the two on top of one another and the difference is essentially ZERO. So now I have a 4" barrell 13+1 .357 sig that weighs 6 ounces more than the G36 fully loaded. Because the G32 is not as eased on the slide edges it feels only slightly thicker than my G36 did.

Back to your question, I have very fairly small hands and the G36 was a perfect fit. It shot as well as could be expected considering it's a .45 and a short barrel.

I have a predator IWB right hand kydex holster and extra factory trigger for the G36 if interested!

I like the 36 I've had for the last few months. Its 6+1 is still 2 rounds more than the 5-shot j-frame I carried for years.

I rented a G36 one day. It felt fine, but IMO if you're going to get a single-stack 45 ACP pistol, why don't you get the one the caliber was designed for - the 1911.

BTW, I like Glocks a lot and my primary CCW is a G23 so this is not Glock bashing.

The older models of the G36 could carry 10 rounds and the newer "slim" models carries either 6 or 7 rounds.
I would get it if I didnt already have my ccw.:)

I believe the "older" model which snake eyes mentioned is the G30 which has a 10 round .45 double stack magazine. Lots of people have criticized for being too thick and bricklike in the grip. On the otherhand most people haven't had any trouble selling them when they "upgrade" to the G36.

That older comment confused me for a bit. The 30 is still cruising along just fine.

I have the 36 and bought it due to it being a 45 cal about the size of my 9mm mid size glock.

Yeah capacity is different, but revolvers, 1911s, and 9mms make capacity counts run up and down all day.

I like it for its small size and kept it over a 1911 I bought used to mess with.

It has more recoil than bigger 45s with more weight, but I like it and see no problem with anyone mastering it if they work with it.

Yeah, recoil with the Glock 36 is very manageable. In my albeit limited experience, it is no worse than that of the 9mm Glock 19. The guns are comparable in size, with the 36 being slightly lighter than the 19.
