Took my new Kahr PM9 out to Bass Pro today. WOW! Neat little pistol. Shot a variety of ammo. Details:

- CCI Blazer 115gr FMJ: No problems
- Fiocchi 115gr FMJ: No problems
- Federal 115gr JHP (BP): No problems
- Remington 115gr JHP +P+: No problems
- Speer Gold Dot 124gr JHP: No problems
- Geco 124gr FMJ: No problems
- PMP/Denel 115gr FMJ: No problems
- Winchester 115gr STHP: Failure to ignite - primer indented
- Olympic 124gr FMJ: Failure to ignite - no primer indent

Overall, accuracy was impressive, trigger was long smooth like a LDA. Easy to predict and good break. Gold Dots were very accurate, the Remington +P+ were the most accurate, but heavy recoil.

Incidentally, the Winchester STHP and Olympics went bang fine in my Walther P5C :D

I presume the primers were too hard for the Kahr. I'm not ready to call it a problem since the other ammo worked flawlessly.

Great carry gun, hardly know it's there :p

Fit and finish are very nice. I'm quite pleased and probably will pick up another!

James

Thanks for the report! How many rounds total did you fire? Notice any differences in the frame, rails, etc (distortion, warping)? I'm really thinking about getting one.

Re. Hard primers.
You know you have to fire at least 200 rounds through the pistol before you can consider it broken in!!
My MK9 did the same thing with Win. White box. It was just one that failed to ignite. Haven't had any since!!! :D

I probably fired 150-200 rounds (wasn't really counting. I fired at least each magazine full of each type of ammo (the 6 rounder and the 7 rounder) to function test each magazine.

When I cleaned it last night (very easy to clean by the way, with the stainless finish), I noticed no warping or anomolies what-so-ever.

Will probably take it shooting again next weekend to see how it works for my wife.

I carried it yesterday at the movie theatre in a belt-slide (only thing I have that will fit it for now) and it sure was comfortable ;)

I also have a nice inside the pants-pocket holster that works good in "Dockers" style pants.

James

Second trip to the range today. I am pleased to report no troubles whatsoever this time including the Olympic and Winchester Silvertip that gave me problems the first trip.

100% functionaly and darn accurate at 21'. :D

Quick question,

What is the 'cut-out' portion of the frame at the trop of the grip on the right side of the pistol? Can you easily remove this piece to get to the spring? Or is it a non-removable panel?

It does not appear to be readily removable. Looks like a one way pin. Don't know what's behind it, there are no specific disassembly instructions that I saw that indicated it was to be removed for some reason.

James
