A friend of mine owns a 245 and doesn't want to sell it. He's considering a 220 for IDPA use as it has the 10rd mags available for it with the grip extensions. He really doesn't have the funds to keep the 245 and buy the 220.

Will the 220 mags fit into and function in the 245 pistol?

Are there any aftermarket grip extensions that are made for the 245, so that he can use it for IDPA shooting?

Thanks in advance for any help. BT

220 mags will fit and function in a 245--I have tried the factory 7 and 8 rounders, not any 10 rounders.

There is no commercially available grip extension that I know of.

Used 220's can be found in the $400-450 dollar range. I would save my pennies and pick one up when he can afford it.

Guy, thanks for confirming the mag fit. We will be searching for that 220 in the near future, but for now he can start getting a few of those 10rd 220 mags for his intro into IDPA. Thanks again.BT

Thanks Guy. I would have to have looked into a parts catalog to compare parts # to see whether that was true. You just saved me a trip downstairs. :)

No problem!! I had fun testing out some new 8 round mags in my 245 last weekend.

I carry one as my spare instead of another 6 round mag.
