In my previous thread (http://www.thefiringline.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=131951) about my coworker's recently purchased M77 I mentioned that he couldn't chamber a round of the proper caliber, namely 7mmRemMag. This was despite the fact he tried all of the tips recommended, managed to get some movement on that "pin" I described, and used several batches of ammunition.

The problem? The wrong bolt!!! He bought the rifle from a pawnbroker who received it with a batch of other rifles, many M77s. It seems that the bolts had been mixed and matched at some point. He went back yesterday to exchange it, and unless they find the bolt for it, I believe he'll be getting another rifle. That was my suggestion, as they have another M77 in the same caliber, just with a cheaper scope. We'll see.

Thanks, from both of us, for all of the tips, who could believe it would be the wrong bolt?
