I'm looking for some food for my Guide Gun.

Question #1: Does anyone know where I can find some 45-70 at a decent price?

Question #2: Why is Corbon's 45-70 so expensive?

Thanks in advance.

Depending on quantity, Georgia Arms and Ammo has gotten many favorable nods in other forums.

This round does not get the "economies of scale" you see with most ammo because people just don't shoot it much. For boxes of 20 at a time, Wal-Mart is probably one of the better bets.

None of the Wal-Marts in my area (NM) seem to stock it (alas!). Just under $20/box seems to be as good as it gets in the local shops, although Cheaper Than Dirt lists it for $15.49 a box (with some obscene amount of shipping to be added later) and Cabela's has a couple of Remington's light loads for $16.49.

Cor-Bon certainly seems to be a tad pricy. Perhaps they gold-plate their shells.
