Facing page 68 of the March 2002 issue of American Rifleman, the reader finds the following interesting statement and accompanying question.
Great Britain is a living laboratory that certifies the absolute and destructive FAILURE OF GUN CONTROL. Why then do U.S. politicians such as TED KENNEDY, DIANNE FEINSTEIN, CHARELES SCHUMER and JACK REED insist that America follow the same DISARMAMENT AGENDA?
It strikes me that the answer is as follows. The most basic CIVIL RIGHT ever enjoyed by A FREE PEOPLE ANYWHERE, IS THE RIGHT TO ARMS. No matter what positions the above named, and similarly inclined others, might actually hold, or claim to hold on various legislative proposals, or other things that might, at first hearing or glance sound or look good, respecting the most basic of civil rights, the above named and their true positions are anathema to civil rights.
I believe that this quite clearly answers the question posed by Mr. Norell.
