just saw a ad for Disney's "Cadet Kelly", about a young lady sent to a Military School. she gets assigend to the Drill team, at that point a banner pops up across the bottom of the screen "no real guns were used during this movie"

I think Walt is spining in his cryochamber....

Disney is run by liberal elitists, just like most every entertainment company out there.

Anti gun, anti religion, pro gay

I still like a lot of their movies, though, and always have a good time at Disney World.

"No real guns were used in this movie." Yeah, and probably no real brains, either.

Short note . My wife worked with a girl whose husband is an Orange County Sheriffs Deputy . According to her he cannot wear his gun while at Disneyland in Anaheim on personal time . She said that Security does not allow it .

I have worn my gun to Disney World (mainly because I didn't care to leave it in the car...I wasn't too scared Mickey or Minnie were going to attack me).

The thing I like is NONE of Disney's Security Guards (better known locally as Keystone Cops) carry guns, even when transporting large sums of money around the grounds. They prefer losing millions to a single person getting shot on company property, causing bad publicity. This is escpecially true now that they can no longer bribe or intimidate the local news into ignoring any bad reports from Disney.

After Disney butchered the movie "Pearl Harbor". I will NEVER, EVER buy anything made, sold, dreamed up by, or is in any way connected to Disney, again. Dogs!

Y'all got that right. The damage done by that movie was incalculable. A lot of anti-hunt and anti-gun folks have never forgiven those hunters for killing Bambi's mother.

And I have also heard it reported (can't think of any sources at the time) that Disney was a big admirer of Hitler.

Malone:

Come on now. I think to suggest Walt was un-American is a bit of a stretch. You dont have to read much about him to know where his feelings lay on this matter.

Malone,
I don't know if Walt himself was a big admirer of Hitler, but it would be Ironic since Disney is now run by jews. :p

It doesn't take an anti-gun view to post such a disclaimer. They are probably trying to head off protests. Remember they were picketed for "Pochahontas"(sp?) and "Mulan".
They are an entertainment company focused on kids, and as such would be very sensitive to any negative backlash. Buisness is buisness to a large corporation.

I was born and raised in So. Cal. I have many fond memories of Disney Land. However, over the last 15 years or so, I am getting really tired of all the merchandising Disney does with the mouse, the duck and the dogs and all the videos. I think many of their animation vids are great but I will not spend any more money on Disney products. They just went too far since Eisner took over.

I did a quick search and didn't find anything that I trust linking Disney to Hitler. Apparently he attended some receptions for Nazis in the 40s, but until I hear more, I'll be content to blame him for Bambi and a lot of other really schlocky garbage.

The logo for the AVG/Flying Tigers was created by Disney Studios. Some rumors say that it was even Walt himself, but there's no real evidence of that.

A lot of financially powerful people (and some not so powerful) were enamored with the success & prosperity associated with the German Nazi party in the late 30's to 1941 (Henry Ford & Charles Lindburgh, for example). I wouldn't hold that against them, since we knew very little about what was really happening/going to happen. Once the war started over here, well, they were all Americans.

Is Disney anti gun? Is the Pope Polish? Why are we asking this question?

Ford a loyal American? HA! Take a look at what Ford money (from the Ford Foundation) has supported.

Henry Ford was about as loyal as Bill Clinton.

Same for Lindbergh.
