Does anyone know a good source for the 20-rd mags for this rifle? I've seen wide variations in price ($20-$125), different material (steel, aluminum), and not a heck of a lot of info regarding the pros and cons of the different mag types and manufacturers.

Thanks.

Well, let me think back to when I could buy standard mags for my HK.

I prefer the factory marked "HK" steel. I hear the aluminum ones are a little fragile, if you bend a steel one, you can bang it out, the aluminum ones split.

I've seen prices plummet since I can no longer get such things, they are under $20 at most places on the net.

Try AIM surplus.http://aimsurplus.com/acatalog/AIM_Rifle_Magazines_7.html

THey list genuine HK steel in good condition for $9.95.

The CETME mags will fit and function fine, I have a few 5 rounders, but they are not as well finished, and with real HK mags at under $10, I'd stick with the real deal.

CDNN is also a good source.

They have some that are marked HK or G3 and others identical but unmarked (but dated). I have some of the unmarked and they are HK. They also sell CETME mags which also work.
